Japan's Babymetal had a roller coaster of a year in 2018; on top of putting out two huge new singles 'Distortion' and 'Starlight', their guitarist Mikio Fujioka passed away at the start of the year, and core vocalist Yui Mizuno announced that she had left the band to pursue a solo career a few months ago.
But with a third album on the horizon, Babymetal are back to kick ass with their first new song of 2019, 'Elevator Girl'.
It's a pretty potent mix of sugary j-pop vocals, metal riffs and a really catchy chorus too. While that's all pretty standard for any Babymetal song, that doesn't make it a bad thing at all.

There's no word on what the new record will be called, or even when it will be released - but if you need something to tide you over in the meantime, check out the new Babymetal graphic novel which delves into some of the mythology surrounding the band.
